Q: When I come to Shanghai, what will I need to bring?
A: Convenience stores and fast food restaurants can be found anywhere in Shanghai. Fast food, drinks and things like soap, shampoo and clothing are cheap and easy to find. Cheap shoes and clothing are especially easy to come by in Shanghai. Please make sure to bring any personal prescribed medications and some of your preferred over-the-counter medications as both will be more difficult to find in China. Bringing your own towels is also a good idea.
Q: What voltage are Chinese electrical sockets? Will my electronic equipment work with it?
A: The standard voltage in China is 220v. Check your equipment. If it says anything from AC 100 - 240V you should have no problems.
Q: Does In-Mandarin have snacks and drinks available onsite?
A: The first floor of our building has a small store with snack foods. We also have drinking water at our center at all times.
Q: What should I do if I am a Vegetarian or have special dietary needs such as food allergies?
A: If you have any special dietary needs, please inform us in advance. Also, we will help you to write an explanatory note in Chinese that you can take with you to restaurants. Obviously you shouldn't have to practice your Chinese to describe a necessity of this nature.
